The solar-plexus chakra is named after the sun, hence the name solar.
As the name suggests, it really is your power house. Your engine. It is located in the solar plexus or stomach area.
It resonates with the color yellow, or gold.
This chakra governs your feeling of power in the world. Starting with personal power, it really says a lot about your confidence. Your drive to succeed.
The ability to believe in yourself and to trust that you can achieve what you set out to achieve. The saying "I'm all fired up" refers back to the fire of the solar-plexus.
People with healthy solar-plexus's can be charismatic individuals. They are magnets because people feel energized around them. They are "sunny".
Two up from the root chakra & sacral chakra, this third chakra is an earthy chakra in that it is primarily concerned with achieving in the physical world.
A healthy solar-plexus chakra means you are confident that you can achieve what you have set your heart and mind on. Often you accomplish things with ease.
You have the confidence to see you through setbacks, and to know setbacks are a part of life. You can survive tough times with grit, knowing you can overcome.
As well as a measure of career or financial "success", the solar-plexus can be concerned with any activity - big or small - that gives you purpose & identity.
For example, a hobby that brings richness to your life.
A healthy solar-plexus can also go hand in hand with succeeding relationships too. It is the confidence to know a loving connection with another person can be manifested.
Unsurprisingly, an out of balance solar-plexus can reflect challenges at work, insecurity within the work environment, and financial insecurities.
Given day to day pressures so many face, it is a chakra that can commonly suffer imbalance!It often affects those who are bread winners and who family members are reliant on. After all, the solar-plexus is concerned with issues directly related to survival !
Often in a reiki session, a person may have a weaker solar plexus, even when the other chakras are open. This can be because the solar plexus is directly connected to what we can achieve in the world - jobs, money. In a reiki treatment, the chakra may feel sticky, wet or shallow, grey or sluggish when it needs more energy replenishment.
Some people lead life mainly through the solar plexus
Over identification with the solar plexus can lead to you feeling it's a "dog eat dog world". That you have to succeed "no matter what". It can lead you to over identifying with financial success and material gains. This can lead to feelings of emptiness and frustration, even arrogance and cruelty. Cut off from the upper chakras, and surviving mostly from the solar-plexus, you could feel very grounded and stuck. As with all the chakras, balance is key.

The aim is to feel confident, and to have personal power whilst still having integrity and balance.
When healthy this chakra feels very deep & vibrant. Brimming full of beautiful golden light!
