An introduction, here, to reiki "attunements"
Reiki was discovered by Mikao Usui of Japan in circa 1910. After a long vigil atop a mountain in Japan to discover if humans could heal with their hands, the reiki symbols were mysteriously revealed to Mikao Usui through the third-eye chakra.
The reiki symbols are shared via the "attunement" process today. So that people can "hold" reiki energy. Each symbol has a different energetic quality rather like a musical note.
After attuning the first reiki Masters, including Mrs Takata, Makao Usui ensured Usui reiki, traditional reiki energy, spread across the globe. Today, Usui reiki is a very popular form of energy healing, known for its gentle & powerful energy healing.
At first, the reiki symbols were closely guarded secrets, almost impossible to find written anywhere, but now they can be seen easily in books and on the internet.
The most important thing about the reiki attunement process is the person's experience of the reiki energy.
This experience can vary from person to person but is usually experienced in powerful, life-changing ways. It involves shifts in people's perception
Many people describe feeling different sensations during an attunement. Including changes of temperature, hot & cold, seeing lights and visions, and even hearing sounds. After an attunement it is common to sleep very heavily, to feel very tired, or sometimes to feel very much energized. Commonly, after an attunement to reiki healing energy, a person's tastes may shift. This can include taste for food, but also taste for colors, clothes, interior design.
Attunements can also change a person's relationships, allowing stagnant relationships to fall away, leaving room for healthier ones.
Hobbies & interests may also change. (experiencing a reiki treatment)
These energy shifts happen because when a person moves from a lower to a higher vibration. Since reiki energy is a high vibration energy, the body also starts to vibrate at a higher frequency after an attunement.
Chakras that are more sluggish begin to open, altering the bodies luminous field.
After the attunements associated with each reiki class level, the body may start to adjust back to more normal conditions. However, the reiki symbols exchanged through the attunement process have left a permanent change on the person's energy field. There is a great opportunity for change & awakening in consciousness after every reiki level.
