Giving reiki energy where it is most needed in the body
Often this means balancing the heart.
The Heart energetically resonates with the color pink and green.
Imagine these colors as you like. Bright resplendent pink, or soft rose-pink. Bright emerald green or softest green.
The Heart Is the very center of the chakra system, and although all the individual chakras are essential for life, the heart is very important...
Why is that?
The heart - no surprises here - represents love.
More explicitly, our ability to give love and receive love.
All our relationships, family and friends, as well as romantic relationships, will resonate with the heart chakra.
When our heart chakra is open, balanced, healthy, we will have a loving, accepting relationship with ourselves.
Self love is our ability to know we are worthy of love.
And from this deep, sound ‘knowing’, all other healthy relationships are created.
Conversely, if our heart chakra is shut off, blocked, weak, we may typically find relationships difficult. Sometimes very much so.
If we do not have self love, we cannot trust we are worthy of love.
We lack the ability to love deeply also. Our experiences of love define our thoughts, our emotions, and our actions.
The heart mirrors our early childhood experiences too.
If our primary family relationships were traumatic, insecure, chaotic, even abusive, we may have closed off our heart from a very early age...
Love can, simply put, just feel...scary.
Fear has always been the opposite to love.
Even so, energy healing such as reiki can help to connect us more fully to our heart, and begin the process of opening it.
This is a first step to engaging in opening the heart to its fullest potential.
The heart chakra is also divided energetically into the lower and upper heart. Whereas the lower heart is connected to all our relationships with others and ourselves, the upper heart is connected to the global consciousness.
Our ability to experience that we are all connected in our humanity.
Although the head (Crown chakra) is often associated with reiki healing, as it is seen as a very "spiritual" chakra, the heart is vital for good mental health.
Without loving relationships, and particularly without self-love, we can feel isolated, lost and lonely.
The heart also helps the flow of energy up to the crown.
The heart therefore affects the type of ‘spiritual‘ connection we may experience as a result.
If our heart is not in balance, no matter how open our crown may be, we will never 'see' as 'clearly'. We may have psychic experiences, but without a balanced heart we may not see or experience things at the "highest vibration". In other words have love-based spiritual experiences.
We are all human and we all have imbalances, from time to time, in all our chakras.
However, by working on opening the heart, building compassion for ourselves and others, we make all connections through the crown as authentic as possible.
The heart first and foremost is about all that makes us human. To give and receive love with ease, to trust in love and know we are worthy, to feel connected to our present precious experiences.
